Summer I:

Traveling to Finland and Estonia

​

Goal:

• Learn from the research partnerships

• Experience comparative learning, professional developments, and cultural activities

• Visit Finnish and Estonian Universities and Schools

• Build a better understanding and appreciate of the country by visiting cultural and historical centers.

• Engage in a collaborative research project that is aligned
  with my research interest

• Attend research meetings with my identified colleague

• Present my findings from prior work and also to develop proposals for future research investigations

Summer II:

ECI 523- Teacher as Researcher

​

Goal:

• Focus more on Action Research

• Learn the methods and skills required for designing and conducting action research

• Understand the systematic inquiry, as well as reflective inquiry

Fall 2018:

​

ECI 525-Contemporary Approach to Teaching Social Studies

​

Goal: 

• Learn about the applications, strategies of new teaching approaches through projects and experiences 

​

 

 

Spring 2019:

​

ECI 695- Thesis

​

Goal: 

• Summer: Develop/Write the Curriculum

• June-August: Write my Proposal

• September: Present my proposal to my committee and send it to IRB for approval

• October-November: Observe the Implementation of the Global Education Curriculum

• November-December: Compile all data and observation. 

• December-Mid-March: Write the Thesis, present it to the committee

• End of March: Defend my Thesis
